Remonstrance Update
We have filed! We have collected the required number of signatures to receive our day in court!Thanks to all of the volunteers that have made this possible. Without you, this could not have been accomplished. Thanks also to the thousands of people who signed the remonstrance petition. Together, we can save our community against involuntary annexation.
City of Kokomo Funding Update
The Kokomo City Common Council has allocated $77,000 (so far) of Kokomo taxpayers’ money to continue to fight the Westside and Eastside annexation ordinances. This is in addition to the $23,000 spent thus far with still some outstanding bills. For more on this spending, see the Council Meeting minutes at the City of Kokomo website here. CAAP relies on donations to provide funding to achieve our goals.
Funding for our Legal Counsel
As mentioned previously, the city of Kokomo has allocated up to $100,000 of Kokomo city taxpayer Economic Development funds to pay for this “expansion” – we have no such money pit to fish from. Money is needed to pay for our legal counsel. Citizens Against the Annexation Plan, Inc is a non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. Donations are appreciated.
